My boyfriend and I are a couple of chubby vegans and we’re very thankful for your blog. It’s tough when in addition to being judged for just being vegan, you get the up and down because someone of your size couldn’t possibly be eating vegan. Thanks for the validation in letting us eat what we want to eat and be who we are.

Two, not-petite vegans. :)

When I saw these, I thought of this blog. You can order them that say vegan. To order click here.

It just makes me mad when people assume you have to be skinny if you are vegan/vegetarian.

Who cares what size we are, vegans come in all shapes and sizes! We are human!

My first attempt at vegetarianism happened when I was 12. It lasted a week. I didn’t try it again until I was 15, and I stuck with it until I was 17 and went vegan for the first time. I had no idea what I was doing and failed miserably after a few months because I was pretty much addicted to cheese. I became pregnant when I was 18 and all of a sudden that little something in me craved all the worst food. I was eating (very non-vegan) fast food and guzzling soda like it was my last meal every day. I gained so much weight during and after my pregnancy that I once tipped the scale to 296lbs. It was at that point, and after having read the book “Skinny Bitch”, that I decided I could be vegan, and DAMN IT, I would! On June 19th, 2009, I went cold-Tofurkey vegan and I have not looked back. Being vegan makes me so happy, because I know that I am doing the best I can for myself and the Earth. By changing my eating and exercising habits (I’m on the move all day long, and I do yoga and walk every day) I’ve dropped down to about 200lbs and it just keeps getting better. I feel AMAZING. I would absolutely be willing to share tips, recipes, or anything anyone may need help with! I hope my story can bring someone else to walk along with me on the vegan path. :)

Now, i’ve always been a bigger girl since puberty. Once i became vegan, i lost 20-25lbs; But i’m still slightly overweight :) I get alot of, “Aren’t vegans supposed to be skinny?” And i’ll respond, “I will murder you and devour your flesh like you do to my animal friends…”
